How does Lightning Lane Multi Pass work?

Last updated on July 26, 2026 Reviewed by a Good Story Vacations Advisor

Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets you book a shorter line for up to three rides or shows at a time. You pick each one with a one-hour arrival window in the My Disney Experience app. After you use your first pick, you can add another until the day’s windows run out.

Here is how to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass, from booking day to park day:

  1. Buy the pass early. You can buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass in advance for each park day. Disney Resort hotel guests start seven days before check-in. All other guests start three days in advance.
  2. Pick three rides or shows. Choose up to three in one park, each with a one-hour arrival window. The app shows the time slots, so you can shape your day before you go.
  3. Tap in during your window. Head to the ride’s Lightning Lane entrance during your hour. Tap your MagicBand, phone, or ticket card to join the shorter line.
  4. Use one, then pick another. As soon as you tap in, choose a new ride in the app. You can repeat this all day, though windows for the most popular rides go first. Open windows change as the day goes on, so keep checking. Your pass covers each ride once per day.

Magic Kingdom® Park, EPCOT®, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® sort their rides into two groups. One of your first three picks can come from Group 1, the short list of top rides. The other two come from Group 2. Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park uses one list, so any three rides work there. Once you tap in for your first ride, new picks can come from either group.

How does Lightning Lane work if you visit two parks in one day? Your three picks sit in one park, but you choose which one. With the Park Hopper® Option, that can even be the park you plan to hop to later in the day. You can change the park in the app up until you use your first pick. After you use that first pick, your next picks can be at another park.

The pass also includes digital downloads of your ride photos and videos from the day. It is one of three Lightning Lane passes. A few top headliners sell on their own as Lightning Lane Single Pass. Lightning Lane Premier Pass covers every ride in one park at your own pace. Every ride has a regular standby line too.
