Private car service or Minnie Van at Walt Disney World?
Use both. Use the Minnie Van™ service for rides inside Walt Disney World® Resort, and book a private car service for the airport. One is built for short rides on property. The other is built for the trip to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Minnie Van inside, car service to the airport
The Minnie Van service is Disney’s own ride option. The vans belong to Disney and Cast Members drive them. Each seats up to six guests, with two car seats set up on request. You request one in the Lyft app from anywhere on property, and an accessible version carries two wheelchairs. For a quick ride to a dinner reservation or between resort hotels, it is the simplest option there is.
A Minnie Van costs extra, and the fee buys a direct trip from where you are to where you want to be. On a day with a lot planned, that saves time you would rather spend in the parks.
Airport rides work differently. Guests at a Deluxe resort hotel, a Deluxe Villa, or a Club Level room can book Minnie Van airport service by phone at (407) 828-3500 . Booking opens 60 days ahead and closes two days before the trip. A private car service or a private shuttle picks up any guest at any resort hotel. The company tells you where to meet the driver at the airport. The rate is flat and set when you book, and car seats and a grocery stop can be added.
So the resort hotel you picked makes part of this call for you. Those stays can use Minnie Van service both ways. Everyone else pairs a car service for the airport with Disney transportation and Minnie Van rides once they arrive.
When Disney transportation is enough
Every Disney Resort hotel includes free transportation to the parks and the Disney Springs® Area. Where you stay decides how often you reach for anything else.
- Magic Kingdom® Park resort hotels. The monorail serves Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It also stops at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. All three can walk to the park as well. That walk runs about 10 minutes from the closest and 25 to 30 from the farthest. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge connects by boat.
- Disney Skyliner resort hotels. The gondolas carry you to EPCOT® and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® without a bus.
- Crescent Lake resort hotels. Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn sit a five-minute walk from EPCOT. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is 15 to 20 minutes on foot. FriendShip Boats serve both parks.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge rides buses to every park. It is the one Deluxe stay where a Minnie Van pays for itself on a regular day.
Booking the airport ride
Reserve your Walt Disney World airport car service as soon as flights are booked. Give the company your flight number, so pickup follows the plane and not the clock. A travel advisor can set up the ride and the car seats in the same talk as the room.
